LEAVING THE PLAN

LEAVING THE PLAN

What benefits are payable in the event of my death prior to retirement?

If you die before retirement and you have a spouse, he or she may receive an immediate pension for life equal to the greater of 75% of the pension you earned to the date of death or the monthly pension that can be provided from the lump sum value of the pension earned to your date of death.

What happens if I terminate my membership with the Plan prior to retirement?

If you have terminated from the plan, you may still have plan benefits. Be sure to notify the administrator of any address changes so that you may be kept informed.

Your termination benefit is calculated in the same way as your retirement benefit, but may also be converted into a lump sum.

To learn more about the above benefits please refer to this section of the Pension Plan Booklet.
